Lesson №7

In this lesson we are going to learn the letters «taaw» and «thaaw». Their pronunciation also should be drilled with a teacher since they do not have any analogues in English. When they are pronounced with fathah i.e the «a» vowel, fathah is not pronounced like «a» but more like «aw» (the same is with «sawd» and «dawd»). Here is what these letters look like:

The letter «thaaw»

The letter «thaaw», in addition to being pronounced with a heavy mouth, is also interdental. It can be compared to the voiced «th» in English like in the word «their». The letter «thaaw» with vowels:
