Isti’adha

Isti’adha

Al-Isti’adha —is seeking refuge in Allah from Satan the accursed. It is preferable to say isti'adha at the beginning of reciting the Holy Quran or in the middle of reciting it as the Almighty said:

When you recite the Quran, seek refuge with Allah from Satan, the accursed.
Surah 16 an-Nahl, ayah 98

Al-Isti’adha is not a part of the Quran. The formulation of Isti’adha is this:

Al-Isti’adha has four cases: in two of them it is said aloud and in the other two — in a low voice.

It is said aloud:

а) in a gathering of people

b) when teaching in a group of listeners so as to warn against talking and make

It is said in a low voice:

a) when reciting the Quran in a prayer

b) when the reciter takes place in a learning group and is not the first to read
