Small letters in Quran

In the Arabic language there are words with small version of the letters ا و ى. Special icons are used to indicate these small letters.

a) Small ا is denoted by a vertical dash above the letter, instead of fathah:

b) Small «waaw» is denoted by an icon ۥ, which is bigger than dammah in size but smaller that the usual waaw.

c) Small yaa has this icon:

Examples:

The small letters of madd are pronounced in the same way as the large Madd letters.
